Accompaniment and relationships in educational communities Vedruna

On October 29, the staff of the Educational Institution “El Carmelo de Caracas”, Venezuela, gathered to participate in the formation Accompaniment and relationships in the midst of the Vedruna Charism“. This day of reflection and learning began with an emotional activity of invocation to the Holy Spirit, asking for his guidance to fully live the Charism and make the necessary changes to be “Born again” in our educational work.

The first part of the training was given by Professor Humberto Rico, who shared his valuable knowledge about the true meaning of accompaniment. He emphasized that accompaniment is not limited to being present, but implies being a close guide, who cares and supports without imposing. In this sense, accompaniment is presented as a fundamental opportunity to personalize our faith, just as Jesus did. In the context of our Community, to relate closely is not an option, but a mission to be embraced by all with love, responsibility and commitment.

The second part of the meeting was in charge of the Sr. Carmen AliciaSister, who refreshed us on the essence of the Vedruna Charism, reminding us that its fundamental pillars are to love, serve and sustain. Sister emphasized that each one of us carries with us the possibility of manifesting this charism, legacy of St. Joaquina, in our daily lives.

How can we Vedruna educators put this charism into practice?
  • Personalized accompaniment: Vedruna educators have the opportunity to get to know each student individually, identifying their needs and strengths. This personalized accompaniment allows us to provide comprehensive support and promote the integral development of each young person.
  • Close relationships: Creating an atmosphere of trust and respect in the classroom is fundamental to establishing close relationships with students. By listening to their concerns and celebrating their achievements, educators become role models and foster a sense of community.
  • Education in the style of St. Joaquina: Inspired by the figure of the Foundress, educators can promote an integral education that develops not only intellectual abilities, but also human and spiritual values.
  • Be healers and liberators: Educators can become agents of change, helping students overcome difficulties and find their own way. By fostering self-esteem and critical thinking, they contribute to the formation of freer and more responsible people.

The meeting was a great opportunity to reflect on the commitment we have as Vedruna Educators with the mission of accompanying, being agents of change, love and support in the lives of our students.
