The community of Our Lady of the Rosary Church was filled with joy and gratitude as it celebrated the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Congregation established by Saint Joaquina de Vedruna.
During the offertory, stars bearing the values promoted by this congregation and flags of the countries where it is present were presented, symbolizing its universal mission and the richness of its charism.
The event also featured a photo exhibition showcasing images of many sisters who have been part of our community, a living testament to their dedication and service.
The Mass, presided over by Father David Fiore, was attended by members of the Vedruna lay community, who continue to keep the legacy of Saint Joaquina alive in our daily lives. Also present was Sister Ileana, a religious of this congregation who took her first steps toward her vocation in our community, reminding us of the fruitfulness of this land in terms of vocations and service.
The identity of the Vedruna Congregation is characterized by its spirit of service, love for those most in need, commitment to education and healthcare, and a deep sense of community. Its charism continues to be a source of light and hope for those who seek to live the Gospel with simplicity and dedication.
This bicentennial invites us to renew our gratitude for the work of Saint Joaquina and to continue building, together with the Vedruna sisters and lay members, a community marked by faith, solidarity, and hope.
